I had the chance to visit the six senses, which in itself is a life time opportunity. I would say the place is worth the hype and worth each penny that you have spent.

I have never seen a hospitality like theirs, so true to their culture so sweet, the staffs won’t leave a single stone unturned. They will go out of their way to make you feel home

The rooms are spacious and the views are spectacular

Their dinning has one of the best food my taste buds have ever tasted

Moreover it is about the vibe of the place , the moment you enter the property their is this still calmness that will surround you

And I ain’t kidding you the only noise you can hear is of the wind

    Six senses truly stands out

Review: A Truly Unforgettable 7-Night Journey with Six Senses Bhutan

We were two couples who just returned from an incredible seven-night stay with Six Senses Bhutan, experiencing their lodges in Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro. This journey far exceeded our expectations and ranks among the very best of our global travels.

    🌄 Lodges & Locations

Each lodge is set in a stunning mountain location, offering unparalleled views of lush valleys and the majestic Himalayas. The architecture and design strike a perfect balance between minimalist luxury and deep respect for Bhutanese culture and nature.

Our rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed, each with a unique layout, comfortable seating areas, and wood-burning fireplaces that staff kindly lit each evening. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows brought the breathtaking outdoors in — you could enjoy panoramic views right from your bed.
    • At the Punakha lodge, the wrap-around balcony provided a perfect perch to take in snow-capped mountain vistas.
    • Climate control was intuitive and effective, though room lighting could be slightly improved.
    • The bathrooms were luxurious, with large showers, deep soaking tubs, and consistently hot water.
    • Each room came with a coffee machine, a well-stocked minibar, and complimentary snacks and fresh fruits.

    🙏 Impeccable Personalized Service

From arrival to departure, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely heartfelt.

We were fortunate to have Sonam (our guide) and Pasang (our driver) with us throughout the journey. Sonam’s deep knowledge, fluent English, and thoughtful care made each day memorable. Pasang’s expert driving skills gave us comfort and confidence on Bhutan’s winding mountain roads. Together, they were always on time, flexible to our needs, and accompanied us on all excursions — even on the Tiger’s Nest hike, where they carried refreshments and gave helping hands when needed.

The rest of the Six Senses team — property managers, bartenders, restaurant staff, spa therapists, and housekeeping — were equally outstanding. Every time we sat in a lobby or common area, someone would check in to see if we needed tea, coffee, or anything at all.

    🥘 Exceptional Vegetarian Dining

As vegetarians, food is always a major consideration for us — and Six Senses Bhutan exceeded all expectations.
    • Each lodge had a dedicated vegetarian menu, and the chefs consistently went above and beyond to accommodate any request.
    • In Punakha, the chef prepared an outstanding off-menu Indian meal tailored to our preferences.
    • At Paro, Chef Pema Choden created a truly special culinary experience: idli and dosa for breakfast, and a four-course Indo-Chinese dinner served at our request — and it was absolutely delicious.

Meals were served with thoughtfulness and flair — from in-room dining to dinners under the stars with fireplaces, blankets, and hot water bottles to keep us cozy on cool evenings.
Our picnic lunches were packed the night before, and even on our early departure day, a full breakfast-to-go was thoughtfully arranged for our drive to the airport.

    🌟 Final Thoughts

We’ve stayed in luxury resorts around the world, but this journey through Bhutan with Six Senses stands out as one of the finest experiences we’ve ever had. The blend of natural beauty, meaningful cultural immersion, flawless service, and warm hospitality made this a truly soul-enriching experience.

We can’t wait to return and explore the other two Six Senses lodges we didn’t visit this time. Until then, we’ll hold onto the peace and joy this journey brought us.

Without a doubt, a world-class experience. Highly recommended

This is a fantastic luxury property on the hills overlooking the capital of Bhutan and the golden Buddha. The property truly understands customer experience and everyone here goes above and beyond to make sure you have a memorable time. it is extremely peaceful day or night and the architecture pays homage to Bhutan and Buddhism. The main lobby and dining area overlook and infinity edge Lagoon that drops down into the valley of the Capital city. At night the light pollution is so minimal. You can see all the stars. The rooms contain a mini bar with complementary items, a wood-burning stove for additional heat on top of the air conditioner and heating unit that is centralized, huge Florida ceiling windows, so you can lay in bed or enjoy the sitting or bathroom areas looking down on the valley, comfortable linens, and individual bathroom, shower and huge bathtub, separate closets, and a desk. There are two potential negatives to note although I hate bringing them up because there are just so many positives. The first is in order to get to your room. There is a little bit of a hill to walk up. The walk is not more than a few minutes, but at 9000 feet if you’re not acclimated to the altitude, this could be a bit of a workout. The hotel offers golf cart drop off and pick up services but if you’re not willing to wait and you want to make the track just now it might get you winded. The other issue is a recent policy change that the hotel made has it appears some people were taking advantage of their all-inclusive laundry policy other properties in the country at the level of this one offer free, unlimited valet laundry during your stay, which means you can pack light and leave with a full set of clean clothes. That’s how it’s advertised on their website. However, when we arrived, we were informed that each person is limited to three articles of clothing each per Day. We stayed two nights and provided eight items each, and there was no pushback however we were warned ahead of time that they would not be able to do all of our laundry. As we planned to have this property in a specific rotation for our journey to have laundry service completed, it did cause a little bit of anxiety before we realized our next property included all laundry for free so it became a non-issue but keep that in mind if you’re trying to pack light.
