Hotel Druk Thimphu Bhutan

A wonderful 5-week stay at Hotel Druk We stayed at Hotel Druk for 5 weeks, so we really had the chance to experience the hotel beyond just a short holiday stay and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Thimphu. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Thimphu and within walking distance of the Clock Tower and many of the shops and restaurants around the city centre. It made getting around so easy, especially during a longer stay. The rooms were always clean and comfortable, and the beds deserve a special mention because they are crazy comfortable. After long days, it was honestly one of the things we looked forward to most! The food was also consistently very good, with plenty of choice, and we really enjoyed having the restaurant downstairs when we didn’t feel like going out. But what really made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful, and over five weeks you really get to know the people working at a hotel. They always went out of their way to help and made us feel genuinely looked after. A very special thank you to Mr. Ugyen Dorji, the General Manager. He was exceptional. He was always checking that we were okay and making sure we had everything we needed. There was never a feeling that we were bothering him, we genuinely felt like we could call him at any time if we needed help with something, and he would do his best to sort it out. That level of personal care makes such a difference, especially when you’re staying somewhere for several weeks. Five weeks is a long time to stay in one hotel, and by the end it really felt like a home away from home. We’re very grateful to the entire team at Hotel Druk for making our time in Thimphu so comfortable and enjoyable. Would absolutely recommend Hotel Druk to anyone visiting Thimphu, and if we’re back in Bhutan, we’d happily stay here again.
