It's a good hotel with courteous and helpful staff . They were kind enough to take special requests and prepare custom meals . Rooms are adequate for the locality and one gets river views from the rooms . They don't have an elevator but the staff is super helpful with the luggage

First off, this riverside hotel has rooms with balconies, just lovely.
The Food - Hats off to the chef, all meals were absolutely OUTSTANDING! (bf and dinner were included in our package)
All the staff were smiley, courteous, kind and extremely obliging.
The rooms and property are clean and well kept .
The bathrooms were the only disappointment. Although they were clean well stocked and always had running how water, the design of the pot to shower arrangement was not comfortable. Especially for middle of the night loo runs..
Would have also liked more plug points in the room.

We stayed several nights on workshop. The view from the balconies is super great. The food was super good every day, with diverse options to make it always interesting. The service of the staff was also super, and they were always ready to react and try to make your stay more confortable. Shower is hard to fine tune, but once you get the hand of it, serves it purpose. In all great place, short walk to the town.

This is an amazing place to stay in Punakha, with mainly all the rooms having river side view.
I booked it through Make My Trip but would recommend that you connect the property directly as they have different types of room available all of which is not listed on MMT.
Hospitality of the staff were great & they even decorate rooms & arrange candle light dinners if you request on any special occasion.
I would definitely recommend this as the best place to stay in Punakha.

Four Boutique Hotel – Comfortable Stay, But Not Value for Money

Our stay at Four Boutique Hotel was overall pleasant, thanks largely to the wonderful staff. From check-in to the day we checked out, the team was consistently warm, supportive, and genuinely helpful. They also guided us well with directions to nearby local markets, which added convenience to our trip. On the hospitality front, the hotel does a great job.

However, when it comes to the value for the price point (~Nu. 9,000 per night), the experience falls short. The room was not adequately heated, which made the stay slightly uncomfortable, especially during colder hours. The water geyser capacity of just 25 liters is honestly impractical—you begin your shower with warm water, but midway it turns cold, which is far from ideal for a hotel in this price segment.

Additionally, the toilet being placed directly in front of the shower area feels awkward and poorly designed. While the room’s view is definitely a plus, the in-house food options are very limited, with only 5–6 dishes on the menu, which restricts dining choices for guests planning to eat at the property.

In summary, Four Boutique Hotel offers good hospitality and a decent stay, but considering the price, the property doesn’t provide the comfort and amenities expected at this rate. A few improvements—especially in heating, hot water capacity, and room layout—could make the experience much better.
