Of the five or six hotels we stayed at across Bhutan, this was easily the most disappointing. The property looks beautiful from the outside, but that’s where the impression ends — once inside, little thought has been given to the guest experience.

The food tells the story best. Fresh local produce is abundantly available at markets, yet the kitchen serves baked beans and limp vegetables. There is no chilli cheese — Bhutan’s most beloved local dish — which feels like a real oversight. Juices left empty at the table. Meals feel commercial and careless, a stark contrast to the wholesome, soulful food we enjoyed at roadside restaurants and farms across the country.

Staff are polite but mechanical — pleasant enough, yet lacking the genuine warmth that makes Bhutan so special.

This is not a place that reflects the soul of Bhutan. For a country this extraordinary, that is a real shame. If an authentic Bhutanese experience is what you’re looking for — and it should be — we’d encourage you to look elsewhere.

If you are looking for genuine Bhutanese hospitality, honest Bhutanese food and a little bit of Bhutanese culture, then please look for another hotel. This is purely a commercial enterprise without any ‘soul’ at all. The food is dreadful, the worst we have experienced in the past week, the service is robotic and insincere and the place needs some maintenance… By far the worst hotel we had the misfortune to experience in Bhutan. If we had come here at the beginning of our trip, without any benchmark, then maybe it would be a different review, but having experienced genuine and sincere hospitality, amazing food (local food) and been witness to the ‘real’ Bhutan, I would avoid this hotel at all cost.

It looked like a place, and again we got a free room upgrade to a vip suite room, since we travelled on off season, we were the only people in the whole resort. the food was good, the view was amazing. the room was just so huge.

Don’t believe the negative posts about this place.
Gives you good value for money
Rooms are spacious n well laid out. Hot water does take time to arrive but that is the case when the pipes need to refill, but that’s something u should accept
Every breakfast and dinner was lip smacking and the staff always around to top up and serve.
Wife used the spa and was very happy with full body massage she got

One word- Amazing. From the staffs to rooms, amenities, foods everything is very good. Super delicious foods. Even we were the only 2 guest in the property, they never fall short with service. Definitely recommend.
