The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, always attentive without being intrusive. And the food was a real highlight - fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu offers a wonderful range of both Indian and Bhutanese dishes, all cooked with care and bursting with flavour. 4 months agoStayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is a pretty good one. Room wise it is very basic, but functional, and a bit no frills. The rest of it is great though. The facilities such as the spa and the dining area were very high quality. Although the location is slightly remote, some attractions in Punakha are not too far from here (via car).

It’s a relatively new property (built within the last year or so), and you can see that in how well everything is done—rooms, common areas, and the overall setup feel fresh and thoughtfully designed.
What stood out the most for us was the manager—very friendly, approachable, and genuinely invested in making sure guests have a comfortable stay.
They also have a really nice community hall, bar, and dining area, which are great for socializing and interacting with fellow travellers. It adds a nice vibe to the whole experience.
Overall, a great stay and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Punakha.

5 months agoWe had a pleasant stay at Zen Punakha in Punakha. The property features a new building with a restaurant and bar that looks very modern and stylish. There is also a beautiful terrace with a great view over the valley, which is perfect for relaxing.
The rooms are located in two separate buildings. Our room was modern and nicely furnished, with a lovely view. The bathroom, however, is a bit dated and not in the best condition anymore.
Dinner was served as a buffet and was tasty, and the breakfast buffet was also enjoyable. Overall, the food was good, though nothing particularly exceptional.
What really stood out was the excellent service and management. The entire team was extremely friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The massage was excellent, and overall the hotel offers good value for money.
